The vintage walnut chair on the right is a representative of what the other 6 chairs looked like. We reglued the frames, hand stripped and refinished them in a satin restoration finish and reupholstered the seats after replacing the foam. Notice what we discovered when the fabric was removed from the back of the unrestored chair!

April 14th, 2011Bright Colored Chairs
March 14th, 2011Wow! What a fun project! A client from Lakeville wanted to add some excitement to their kitchen center island area. We stripped and painted their boring center island chairs using three vibrant colors. Now the former dull and mundane space has been transformed into a welcome, cheerful and inviting space!
FIRE & WATER RESTORATION
February 10th, 2011Major insurance firms contact us to pick up furniture that has been damaged by fire or water. Typically we are contacted and are on site just hours after the catastrophe. Here we are at a home in Savage rescuing an exquisite hand carved antique. The base was frozen into the slushy carpet, and had it sat there overnight this item would have been much more difficult and expensive to restore.

Hand-carved Bar from Guinea
November 11th, 2010This original, hand-carved bar was fashioned in Conakry, Guinea in 2001. The customer requested that local village scenes be depicted across the entire bar, and allowed the carver to draft the design. The scene at the right facing end of the bar with three people under a tree is a scene depicting traditional conflict mediation. Two people are explaining a problem to an elder who will decide how to resolve their dispute.
This one of kind bar was damaged during a house fire. We have stripped and sanded it, and returned it to the original color.
Chippendale Sofa Frame
October 26th, 2010This dilapidated frame was actually once a fantastic hand carved Chippendale sofa, circa 1925. It had sat in the hayloft of an old barn in Eden Prairie for many years before a distant family relative of the original owner rescued it. They hauled it into our shop in the back of a pick up truck and asked if there was any hope for it. After touring our facility they were convinced we could resurrect this family piece.
Refurbished Chippendale Sofa
October 26th, 2010And here is the result! We reconstructed the frame and hand carved missing sections of wood as necessary. The wood color was selected based on what the original color would have been, and then satin restoration finish was applied. Every inch was hand rubbed to a soft luster. The spring system was reconstructed and we added soft luxurious down & foam padding and cushions. Authentic mohair fabric was then applied. The owners were ecstatic at the results!
Changing chair seats from caning to upholstery
October 7th, 2010This customer from Wayzata decided to have their 1970’s teak Scandinavian high end chairs restored. They painted the frames black themselves, leaving the center section in natural teak finish. As caning tends to wear out over the years, we gave them the option to change the seat style from caning to upholstery, using webbing and foam, which was just what they were looking for!
Water damaged table
October 7th, 2010This table just had the top refinished to correct water damage. (It sat outside their Minnetonka home.) The base did not receive direct damage. On this particular project, we will only be refurbishing the base to save the customer money. It is not always necessary to restore the entire piece. This older style of table is very popular because of its size. It fits into any area in your home.
